TOSEI's Initiatives for SDGs

SDGs

SDGs stands for "Sustainable Development Goals," which were adopted at the United Nations Summit in September 2015 and are common goals for the international community to achieve a sustainable and better world. Based on our founding management philosophy, TOSEI will contribute to the achievement of the SDGs through all of our corporate activities, focusing on business activities that provide new excitement and a higher level of customer satisfaction.

TOSEI's Initiatives for SDGs

What are SDGs?

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are international goals to achieve a sustainable and better world by 2030, as stated in the "2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" adopted at the UN Summit in September 2015. It consists of 17 goals and 169 targets, and pledges to “leave no one behind.” Japan and other countries, both developed and developing alike, are actively working to achieve this goal.

Coin Laundry

Contributing to SDGs through wastewater with low environmental impact

TOSEI is contributing to SDGs through wastewater with low environmental impact to make "detergent-free coin laundries" a reality. By adopting magnesium, which is anticipated to wash, deodorize, and sterilize laundry equipment, we are working to develop products that eliminate the need for detergent and fabric softener. This will minimize contamination of used laundry water that is discharged, thereby reducing environmental impact.

Contributing to the creation of a safe city through a disaster-ready laundry

During TOSEI's volunteer activities in the aftermath of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, we heard from local residents that there was a huge demand for clothes and laundry services in the affected areas, and this prompted us to focus on developing a "disaster-ready laundry" as a contribution to the local community in the laundromat business. Our Disaster-ready Coin Laundry offers the use of washing machines and dryers free of charge, as well as free provision of lifelines such as electricity, gas, and water in the event of a disaster.

LAUNDRY Ene x Spa stickers are also available to mark stores that are prepared in the case of a disaster. These stickers can be seen on store entrance doors, etc., to promote awareness among local residents.

Moreover, through our vacuum packaging machine business, we also engage in activities to promote "stockpiling of clothing and food." We protect stockpiled goods from damage caused by flooding, such as being washed away by muddy water rendering them unusable, and we protect local residents from secondary disasters caused by cold waves and other disasters.

Vacuum Packaging Machine

Vacuum packaging for the reduction of food loss and plastic trays

TOSEI's product (vacuum packaging machine "TOSPACK") enables high-performance vacuum packaging for bulk cooking and long-term storage of food ingredients and food products, thereby reducing the amount disposed of and contributing to the reduction of food loss.
Our products also contribute to the reduction of plastic waste by replacing plastic trays with vacuum packs.
